Western Bluebirds


This mated pair of western bluebirds was commissioned. I'd never seen them before, and it was fun to make somebody brand new to me.

It's interesting that the male is so highly colored even in back, and the female isn't at all.

    I think you got the subtle colours of the female really well done.

    I love the mountain bluebird you did in the other post... but the western bluebird males also have such a nice variety of colours.

    Aw... they're really lovely!

    I can't wait to take them on our adventure. I'll be sending you pictures as we go along :)
